"How the Sequel to Drishyam Will Uplift and Surprise Fans"
A sequel to the 2015 film Drishyam, which in turn was adapted from the 2013 Malayalam film of the same name, Drishyam 2 is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language criminal thriller film directed by Abhishek Pathak and based on the 2021 Malayalam film of the same name. The movie, which takes place seven years after its forerunner, stars Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran, and Ishita Dutta. In supporting parts, it also has Mrunal Jadhav, Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, and Kamlesh Sawant.
The remake began production soon after the original film's release in February 2021 and was completed the same year. With the inclusion of Khanna and Shukla, all of the actors from the previous were kept on. The movie's main photography began in February 2022 and was completed in June 2022. The majority of the filming took place in Goa, although it also included Mumbai and Hyderabad. Devi Sri Prasad created the soundtrack for the movie.
On November 18, 2022, Drishyam 2 was theatrically launched all across the world to resounding acclaim. The screenplay, cinematography, editing, and cast performances received high appreciation from the critics. The movie made 1 billion rupees ($13 million) in 4 days across all markets, and 6 days after it opened in India, it joined the 100 Crore Club. It had global box office receipts of 336.83 crore (US$42 million) as on January 4th, 2023. It is the 37th highest-grossing Indian movie overall and the third-highest-grossing Hindi movie of 2022.
